Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
This policy explains what Shofero, Inc. ("Shofero", "we", "us") collects when you use our website, marketplace and contractor CRM, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Shofero, Inc., a Delaware corporation, operates the Shofero website and platform. Our mailing address is 123 Example Street, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78701, United States. For privacy questions, email privacy@shofero.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to deliver the service you asked for.
Information you give us
- Quote requests: the service you need, project answers, optional photos, ZIP code, optional street address, your name, and an email address or phone number so we can send your quote.
- Accounts: name, email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider) or Google sign-in identifier.
- Contractor workspaces: business details, team members, customers, jobs, estimates, invoices and payment records that you enter or import.
- Community posts: anything you choose to publish publicly.
- Support messages: what you send us by email or in-product.
Information collected automatically
- Essential session and preference storage (see our Cookie Policy).
- Basic server and security logs, such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, kept for security, fraud prevention and debugging.
What we do not do
- We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers on this site.
- We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
3. Why we use it
- To prepare and deliver your quote and to match your project with a suitable pro.
- To create and secure your account and workspace.
- To provide CRM, estimating, scheduling, invoicing and payment features you use.
- To send service messages about your requests, jobs and billing.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal and tax obligations.
- To improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying information.
4. AI features
Some features (estimate assistance, summaries, drafting help) send the relevant content of your request or workspace record to a third-party AI model provider to generate a response. AI output can be inaccurate and is a starting point, not professional advice or a binding price. Do not enter sensitive personal information into AI fields. See our Terms & Conditions for how AI output is treated.
5. When we share information
- Contractors: when you request a quote, we share the project details and the contact information needed for the assigned professional to reach you.
- Service providers: hosting, database and authentication, email delivery, payment processing and AI model providers, each acting on our instructions.
- Legal: when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or safety.
- Business transfer: in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.
6. How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept while we work your request and for up to 24 months afterwards. Account and workspace data is kept while your account is active. Records needed for tax, accounting or dispute purposes are kept as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your account and we will delete or de-identify data we are not required to keep.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling with legal effects. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
To make a request, email privacy@shofero.com from the address on your account or include enough detail for us to verify you. We respond within 45 days where required.
8. Messaging consent
If you give us a phone number, you agree we may contact you about your request by call or text. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts or contact us at support@shofero.com. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, as required by CAN-SPAM.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections, row-level database access rules, role-based permissions and signed URLs for uploaded media. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
10. Changes and contact
We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes and, for material changes, notify account holders. Questions: Shofero, Inc., 123 Example Street, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78701, United States, privacy@shofero.com.
